Diverse cichlid fauna of this rift lake

Hey Jason....

It has been a while....last time I picked up some fish from your "awesome" stock is when you left MO.

I stole your Metriclima Flamebacks from Jims2cool and a few other things.

Any chance of getting some Kilesa's from you? Fry or adults are fine? If not, that is okay...I'll try to get some Enantopis Melo's from BobR but would prefer the Kilesas.

Setting up a Boop's, Cyp, and Sand sifter tank...would like fish from reputable breeder (thats where you come in) so I know the fish are what they are suppose to be. And I have always had only "praise" toward your fish...everyone loves em.

Sorry no sandsifters right now. Just picked up a few juvenile N. nigriventris to try [again] as I couldn't locate Xeno. "papilio" or "sunflower" [at a price I could afford]. I would holdout for the "kilesa" as the yellow throat color really makes the fish. They were a bit delicate; wouldn't keep them with anything else except maybe some C. leptosoma [non-jumbos] or P. nigripinnis [if aquarium large enough for a vertical rock pile]. They won't work with boops, those are too aggressive for the Enants. I don't think any sandsifter would work with boops as the dominant male will control the entire open area of the tank floor. I found Xeno "ochrogenys ndole" were capable sandsifters and could hold their own with jumbo types of Cyprichromis and even mbuna but I'm not sure about boops, maybe in a very, very large aquarium.

I would imagine somebody in the midwest is breeding them [Chicago, maybe?]. Were not hard to breed; eggs/fry were TINY and a bit delicate as well [lots of high protein feed, frequent water changes]. Good Luck!

Well, I tried BobR and he isn't keeping any sandsifters any longer. I did find one guy here local that has Xeno's Ocrogenys, Callochromis Pleurospilis, and Enantopis Melo's but no fry to sell yet. I have been watching the Chicago board but haven't seen any for a while.

If you run across some and the owner is willing to ship, please pm me. PLEASE!!!

Thanks for your repsonse however,
Tim :D

Just thought I would share. I picked up a very nice group of Enantopis Kilesa's from RMC...(Sam Chin) in Denver. I also found a small group of Karalini Copper Feather Fins and some Callochromis Macrops Ndole Red's.

Can't wait for them to grow out! They are in the 120 right now.

Good luck with all of them. Three species I've found to be a bit sensitive for growout[though the Cyaths. are pretty tough once they get to adult size].
