Hello cichlid fans

Postby Orbital » Sat Sep 30, 2006 1:18 pm

I'm not really from the Carolina area, but was at Basic Training in South Carolina for 9 weeks and am currently in Virginia for my AIT. I am from Iowa, and should be returning on November 21st. I am mostly into Malawians, but keep a few different types of Synodontis and like the bristlenose plecos. I still keep a few types of cichlids that I got from Jason before he moved. I still have groups decended from his Ngara Flametails, Perspicax Ndumbi, but never did get his Afra Cobue to breed. I had a pretty nice trio that I got fry from though, and have been growing them out. Pretty nice mbuna I think. I have only the Ngara peacocks, and a couple types of Malawi haps, the rest are all mbuna. Love the mbuna.

I have around 13 tanks ranging from 10 up to 75 gallons, family has been taking care of them while I am gone for my training. I can't wait to get back to them in November and upgrade my setups some once I get back with my money I've been saving and bonus.

Hi Chad,

Nice to have you. Hope the summer conditions in SC weren't too bad for you. Made the ACA this summer and ran into the IAA group.

It was nice and hot, learned to drink lots and lots of water. It almost seemed hotter in Virginia though. I think it is the higher humidity levels, but it is cooling off some now.

I was bummed, I kind of rushed getting to basic and I ended up missing being able to goto the ACA by a week or two, also my cousins wedding before he deployed to Iraq. :? I am glad I have gotten the training under my belt, and most of my MOS training is done too.
